Warwick Appeals Charging Station Denial

Warwick Township wants clarification as to why the municipality was turned down for a grant to build a public electric vehicle charging station at the Watford Museum.

Mayor Todd Case says the province stipulated stations could not be more than 4 km away from a 400-series highway. The museum is 5 km away from Hwy. 402.

"Whenever you get a rejection letter to say you didn't quite make the grade, it's always good to follow up and find out why," he says. "It was something that was very important to our local municipality, hoping to get people to stop, slow down, spend a little time in Watford and maybe support some of our local businesses."

The list of successful bids does not include any charging stations along the 402. The closest is in the London-area.
