Grand Bend promises its fireworks along the main beach Saturday night will be the biggest in southwestern Ontario with over 5,000 individual detonations.
Grand Bend Celebration Committee Chair Brian Dale says the Lake Huron resort community has always hosted a large display.
"In the last five or six years we've been in the top five for displays in southern Ontario and possibly most of Ontario, the only ones that had anything bigger was Toronto and Ottawa," says Dale. "We've always been up there but this year we've sort of bumped it up and we're the largest one in southwestern Ontario, is the information we've received from fireworks dealers."
The celebration begins at 7pm with live music on the Rotary Community Stage with fireworks over Lake Huron at 10pm.
Dale says if the wind and weather doesn't cooperate, the show will take place Sunday, July 2.
