Sting acquire big forward from Sudbury

The Sarnia Sting have made another trade in advance of Thursday's noon deadline.

The team has acquired 17-year-old forward Anthony Tabak from the Sudbury Wolves in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2020 and a conditional 2023 draft choice.

The 6'5'', 204-pound Tabak has a goal and eight assists in 34 games this season after putting up six goals and eight assists in 51 games in his rookie year.

Sting GM Nick Sinclair said Tabak has great potential.

"Anthony is big, mobile forward with exciting upside," he said. "We are excited to add Anthony to our current young core of players as we go forward."

The Oakville native will make his Sarnia Sting debut on Friday night when the Sting host the Ottawa 67’s at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The move comes following the trade of Adam Ruzicka to Sudbury for draft picks, and Anthony Salinitri and Aidan Hughes to Oshawa.

Sarnia also acquired goalie Cameron Lamour in a trade with the Saginaw Spirit.
