Mustang owners to try their hand at poker run

Pathways Health Centre for Children is expecting over 150 cars at its annual Mustang Sally Rally.

The seventh annual event is being held Saturday at Point Edward's Starlight Casino.

Pathway's special events lead Laurie Grant said in the past six years over $40,000 has been raised for specialized programs offered to children and young adults at Pathways.

"Once the rally begins, they drive on a scenic drive around Lambton County to four different spots where they pick up a card for their poker hand and they return to the casino for their fifth and final card," said Grant.

She said cash prizes are then awarded for the best four poker hands.

Grant said Mustang owners really bond with each other at the event.

"They love to travel together and talk cars and see different models, right from beginning until now. It's a pretty cool experience and Lambton Ford has been pretty instrumental in getting all of the participants there," she said.

Registration forms are available at Pathways and Lambton Ford.

The event gets underway at 8 a.m. with the rally starting at 10 a.m.

The Ford Mustang was introduced in 1964.
