It's an exciting time for growth in Watford.
Warwick Township council has officially approved an agreement with the YMCA to operate a fitness facility and run programming in its new community hall.
Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk Amanda Gubbels said conceptual drawings for the facility and neighbouring park were on display at an open house Tuesday evening.
"It will show the relocation of the ball diamond, the hall addition, arena renovation, as well as the demolition of Centennial Hall and future parking areas," said Gubbels. "So, what we're looking for is to get some initial feedback from the public on the design. We've heard from some of our community groups that parking should be shifted. So, that user perspective is what we're hoping for."
In terms of the park, Gubbels said the front baseball diamond has to be removed to make room for the new hall.
She said they hope to replace it with a larger diamond, adjacent to the existing back diamond.

YMCA staff joined township staff on Tuesday at Centennial Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to answer any questions.
Residents who were unable to attend the open house can provide their feedback in a survey posted on the township's website.
Council approved a new 11-lot subdivision in Watford in June.
