Intercity bus service to get moving this spring

Intercommunity bus service from Sarnia to London could finally start next spring.

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey said the service is now scheduled to begin in early 2020, with stops in Strathroy and Mt. Brydges.

Bailey said buses, with 10-24 seats, will operate five days a week and make multiple round trips.

"It's going to be accessible for people with wheelchairs and other needs, so that's great for people who want to make medical appointments in London, or business opportunities that don't have a ride," said Bailey.

Sarnia learned its joint bid with Strathroy-Caradoc for $1.45 million in funding from Ontario's Community Transportation Grant program was successful in May 2018.

The grant was reconfirmed after the 2018 provincial election.
