A grade four student from Petrolia says having a disability doesn't mean you can't do what you love.
Cash McKinnon became a local Internet sensation in October when a video was posted showing him finishing his elementary cross country race with crutches in hand.
Born with cerebral palsy, McKinnon took part in the race alongside his Lambton Centennial School classmates.
"It went good. I came in place 98 and there was like 201 people in our qualifying race," he said.
The video of Cash finishing the race, posted to Twitter by Lambton Centennial PE Teacher Steve McGrail, has been viewed more than 62,000 times.
He said it's pretty cool to be famous.
"I mean last year I got on YouTube, but I've never gotten this far. So to get it this far feels good," McKinnon said.
McKinnon said his favourite subject at school is gym, specifically when the class is playing floor hockey, volleyball or basketball.
He said his advice to others with a disability is don't let anything hold you back.
"Just keep doing what you love, and if somebody tells you that you can't do it, you still can," McKinnon said.
McKinnon is currently in his first year of sledge hockey.
When he's not playing, McKinnon loves watching his Sarnia Sting, Sarnia Legionnaires and Detroit Red Wings in action.
