UPDATE: Weekend fires under investigation

Three people were taken to hospital after a fire late Saturday evening in Brooke-Alvinston.

Brooke Fire and Rescue Inwood, Alvinston and Watford stations responded to a garage fire in the 3500 block of Inwood Road.

Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the blaze, however three people in the garage at the time suffered serious but non-life threatening burn injuries.

The cause is considered accidental but fire officials said the exact cause was still under investigation.

A representative from the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office was on the scene Sunday.

Damage is pegged at $100,000 after a house fire Saturday night in St. Clair Township.

Brigden and Wilkesport stations were called at around 11:20 p.m. to a house fire on Mandaumin Road.

The blaze was extinguished quickly and without incident.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office attended and improper disposal of smoking materials is believed to be the cause.

No injuries were reported.
