Petrolia man charged after unhitched boat trailer hits vehicle

A Petrolia man is charged under the Highway Traffic Act after a trailer hauling a boat came loose and collided with another vehicle.

First responders were called to Oil Heritage Road between Lasalle Line and Discovery Line at around 3 p.m. Friday.

Lambton OPP said the collision caused minor injuries to the occupants of the vehicle that was struck. The road was closed for a short time for the clean-up of debris.

The 50-year-old driver hauling the boat is charged with improper means of attachment, insecure load, and having an improper braking system.
