UPDATE: Snow squall warning ended for north and east Lambton

A snow squall warning issued for north and east Lambton County has ended.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. the weather agency lifted the alert.

Early Friday morning, Environment Canada Meterologist Brian Owsiak said 10 to 20 centimetres of snow was possible heading into the weekend, with higher amounts in areas that experience persistent snow squalls.

"Looks like Sarnia will miss the worst of it, but parts of northeastern Lambton County and then into northern Middlesex and Huron-Perth do look to get into those heavy flurries and snow squalls today," said Owsiak.

The national weather agency said the heavy snow will combine with strong northwesterly winds, resulting in blowing snow and reduced visibility at times.

On Thursday, Environment Canada issued a snow squall watch for the area, before it was upgraded to a warning on Friday morning.
