Sarnia-Lambton healthcare leaders in the spotlight during the global pandemic are at the top of the so-called "Sunshine" list locally.
The salaries of those making $100,000 or more are reported each year under the Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act.
Bluewater Health President and CEO Mike Lapaine earned $319,546 in 2020, followed by Lambton County Medical Officer of Health Dr. Sudit Ranade at $313,508. Bluewater Health Communications Chief Julia Oosterman was paid $152,084.
A total of 264 City of Sarnia employees met the threshold including Chief Administrative Officer, Chris Carter at $214,679. Sarnia police chief Norm Hansen made $198,084, while deputy police chief Owen Lockhart made $181,594. Former Sarnia Fire Chief Brian Arnold, who left for a job in Cambridge last October, made $144,379 in 2020, while new Chief Bryan Van Gaver made $159,500.
Other salaries of note on the list include Lambton County CAO Ron Van Horne at $255,033, Lambton Kent District School Board Director John Howitt at $235,905, St. Clair Catholic District School Board Director Deb Crawford made $218,056, and outgoing Lambton College President Judith Morris earned $295,974 last year.
