Gas prices have reached new record highs in Sarnia this week climbing to over $1.90 per litre at most stations.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a litre of regular fuel in Sarnia was 192.9 cents a litre Thursday.
Some relief may come Friday if you can hold off on filling your tank.
Dan McTeague, the president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, is projecting a 15 cent drop which will bring the price of a litre of fuel from 190.9 to 175.9 cents a litre in many areas of southern Ontario.

The cost of gas has been increasing since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine in mid-February.
Canada and the United States have banned imports of Russian crude oil as a result of the conflict.
The decision has led to supply concerns and the cost of a barrel of oil hit $140 U.S. earlier this week, the highest it has been since 2008.
