New Petrolia playground to open this summer

Work to create an accessible playground at Greenwood Park in Petrolia is officially underway.

The Town of Petrolia said a ground breaking ceremony was held Wednesday.

Members of a local group called Parents for Parks were joined by Mayor R. Brad Loosley, Chief Administrative Officer/Treasurer Rick Charlebois, town staff, members of the Lions Club of Petrolia, the Petrolia and Enniskillen Agricultural Society, and the Petrolia Community Foundation.

“We can hardly wait to see families enjoying the new playground,” said Emily Bright, a Parents for Parks representative.

A grand opening for the playground is expected to take place in the summer.
