The new chief executive officer of the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership is bringing 35 years of experience to his new position.
Dan Taylor, who started July 11, said he spent 15 years in advertising and marketing in Toronto and the last 20 plus years in economic development.
"I spent ten years formulating what is now, if anybody is familiar with Prince Edward County, a wine and culinary destination," said Taylor. "I was, for a handful of years, the president and CEO of Peterborough Economic Development and I most recently, for the past five years, was in a senior management and economic development role for the town of Innisfil."
Taylor thinks his history and interests fit with the role nicely.
"I have had an agricultural background in all three communities that I worked in, and certainly an industrial background in Peterborough specifically, and some other new economy stuff in all three roles."
SLEP Recruitment Committee Chair Katherine Walker said Taylor's experience, energy, vision and enthusiasm for economic development really stood out.
"We look forward to seeing [Taylor's] leadership in action, as he and the team drive economic growth across the community," she said.
Taylor replaces Stephen Thompson who announced his resignation at the beginning of the year.
