Former Sting distances himself from Hockey Canada allegations

A former Sarnia Sting standout is distancing himself from assault allegations involving unnamed members of Hockey Canada's 2018 National Junior Team.

Jordan Kyrou, who now plays for the St. Louis Blues, was a member of the World Junior team that has become the subject of nationwide controversy.

Earlier this month, the federal government started looking into an out of court settlement with a woman who alleged she was sexually assaulted by junior hockey players following a Hockey Canada Gala in London in 2018.

On Tuesday, Kyrou shared a message on Twitter stating that he "did not attend the Hockey Canada Gala and was not in London, Ontario at the time of the alleged incident."

Kyrou added that he is "prepared to cooperate with any additional investigations in the future if necessary" and that given the ongoing investigations, he "will not provide any further public comments."

Kyrou was a member of the Sarnia Sting between 2014 and 2018.
