The Great Lakes Super Series fishing event makes its way to Sarnia on Saturday.
Up to 75 teams of anglers will launch from the Sarnia Bay Marina, trying to catch the heaviest bass. They'll have the option to fish in the St. Clair River or venture north to Lake Huron.
Tournament Director Bill Hamilton commented on the weekend event.
“We want the anglers to experience incredible fishing in southern Ontario and Sarnia was an obvious choice for us to hold a tournament," said Hamilton in a previous news release. "It is a beautiful city with a beautiful waterfront. It allows the GLSS to not only accommodate a full field of teams on the water, but also gives the anglers an opportunity to bring their families for the weekend to enjoy a variety of activities that this great community has to offer."
The event is the second of three qualifiers ahead of September's championships in Belle River, September 10 and 11.
The winners will receive up to $6,000 in prize money.
The third and final qualifier will take place in Windsor on August 27.
