A significant amount of drugs, including pure fentanyl, have been seized following a "simple traffic stop" in Sarnia.
A Sarnia police officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Friday at around 4 a.m.
One of the occupants, a 27-year-old Sarnia woman, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Officers searched the vehicle which allegedly had a substantial amount of drugs and cash inside.
Police seized 21.1 grams of pure fentanyl, that when mixed with an agent could produce up to 250 grams of street-ready fentanyl with a value of $50,000. The seizure also included 157.2 grams of street-ready fentanyl worth $31,440, 75.6 grams of methamphetamine worth $3,580, and $7,840 in cash.
Sarnia police said 28-year-old Nicole Rosemary Joseph, 27-year-old Amber-Lynn White, and 29-year-old Curtis Brown were all charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
Joseph and White remained in police custody pending a bail hearing. However, an outstanding warrant was issued for Brown as he was transported to hospital for medical reasons.
Charges against the accused have not been proven in court.
