Rotary used book sale starts Friday

About six thousand books have been collected to sell at a pop-up used book sale at Lambton Mall.

The Rotary Club of Sarnia Bluewaterland is running the sale in the former Peoples jewellery store, by Marshalls, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Committee member Dale Wilcox said they have a lot of titles by popular authors.

"We have some great recent releases, best sellers, pocket books and hardcovers," said Wilcox. "Folks coming out are in for a real treat at this sale because this is one where I have never, in all of the years we've been running the book sale, seen so many recent releases."

Wilcox said Sarnia-Lambton residents have been busy reading throughout the pandemic and many have said they've been waiting to donate to the sale.

"We have priced our pocket books at $2 each or two for $3, the mid-sized pocket books are $4, and our hardbacks are $6 or two for $10."

Wilcox said they have something for everyone, including new readers.

"We have several tables of children's books. Everything from beginner/ bedtime story reading, right on through to teens."

Children's books range in price from five for $1, to $5 each.

Sales will be conducted in cash only, and all funds raised will help support various organizations across Sarnia-Lambton.

Wilcox said more pop-up sales are planned in February and March, depending on what's left.
