A Lambton Shores man who fell asleep behind the wheel of a stolen car is facing a long list of charges.
At around 9:50 a.m. Sunday, Lambton OPP were tipped off about a suspicious vehicle parked along Telfer Road near Courtright Line in St. Clair Township.
Police said the suspect was in the driver's seat of the un-plated vehicle, and he appeared to be sleeping.
While speaking with the driver, police said it was apparent he had consumed an intoxicating substance and was displaying signs of impairment. Controlled substances were also located during a search of the stolen vehicle.
The 43-year-old suspect was arrested and taken to an OPP detachment for a drug recognition evaluation.
He's charged with operation while impaired, flight from a peace officer, two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance, possession of property obtained by crime (both over and under $5,000), failure to comply with a probation order, failure to comply with a release order, and operation while prohibited under the criminal code.
The accused was being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Monday.
