Students to learn from Petrolia council meeting

The Town of Petrolia has altered its council schedule so area students can learn more about municipal politics, in recognition of Local Government Week.

The October 23 council meeting, initially scheduled to take place at 7 p.m., will now take place at 10 a.m.

The meeting itself will also be moved to the auditorium at Victoria Hall. Members of the public are still welcome to attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, Petrolia's second town hall meeting will take place on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Residents will be able to speak with councillors during the forum at Victoria Hall.

The town held its first town hall meeting in April as a way of increasing engagement with community members.
