Over 300 nativity scenes from all over the world are going to be on display this week ahead of the holiday season.
The annual Nativity Walk, at Sarnia First Christian Reformed Church, is taking place on Friday and Saturday.
Spokesperson Stacey Huxtable said it's become a popular holiday event for the community, and over 600 people walked through last year.
"It's just a great way to start the Christmas season," said Huxtable. "There are a few women at our church that have over 100 set themselves which is pretty crazy. The others are donated by other church members, and it's become so popular that a lot of people in our fellow church community also donate their sets just for this weekend."
Huxtable said it's hard to describe the beauty of the displays, which come from all over the world.
"You have to come and walk through and see how different all of them are," she said. "Some are metal, some are wood, just so many different kinds. There's some beautiful Indigenous ones that we have from up in the Arctic. There's some from many different countries in Africa, a few from Egypt, a lot of European ones. A lot of our church members have Dutch backgrounds, so there are some from that area as well. Literally, there are so many parts of the world represented, it's pretty neat."
Huxtable said they'll also have free hot apple cider and cookies.
There will be local live music on site, and they're accepting donations toward the River City Vineyard's homeless shelter.
The church, at the corner of Murphy Road and Exmouth Street, is fully accessible and open to everyone.
The nativity walk is set for Friday, December 1 from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
