The eighth annual Round Dance will be held at Lambton College on Saturday to celebrate and acknowledge Indigenous culture and traditions.
The event will be held in the school's gymnasium on December 2 from 7:30 p.m. until 12 a.m.
Associate Vice President of Student Success Kurtis Gray said the event was first held on January 30, 2015.
"At that time, the Indigenous Student Council brought the idea forward and it's still hosted by our Indigenous Student Council along with our Indigenous Student Centre," Gray said. "In past years there have been anywhere from 500 to 800 people attend the event."
Gray said a round dance is a ceremony intended to bring people together.
The event will feature drumming, singing, dancing, crafts, and Indigenous vendors.
"There [are] some really good fundraising opportunities and all that money that's fundraised will go back to our Indigenous student council," he said.
The Round Dance is free to attend and is open to the public. Signage will be posted around campus to direct attendees to the gymnasium.
