Boil water advisory lifted for Plympton-Wyoming

Lambton Public Health has lifted the boil water advisory that was in place for parts of Plympton-Wyoming.

Recent water samples taken from the Water Distribution Centre met Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards.

This means the water is now safe for human consumption.

Steps are now being recommended for residents since the advisory has been lifted.

  • Flush your cold water tap at least one minute before using. If you have been using your water to flush toilets or to take showers or baths, this step is not needed.

  • Run drinking water fountains for one minute before using.

  • Flush all garden hoses by running water for one minute.

  • Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.

  • Drain and refill hot water tanks that are set below 45 degrees Celsius.

  • Replace water filters used to filter untreated water.

Questions about the boil water advisory and the cause can be directed to the Town of Plympton- Wyoming at 519-845-3939.
