UPDATE: Two suspects arrested in Sarnia stabbing

Sarnia police said a second suspect has been arrested for attempted murder following a stabbing in the city late Friday night.

Police said a 33-year-old man was stabbed in the neck on January 12 following an argument with two other men.

The stabbing incident was upgraded to an attempted murder investigation as the victim continues to receive emergency medical care.

Sarnia police said it's believed the victim may have suffered permanent life-altering injuries.

After investigating multiple leads, police arrested a 20-year-old suspect at 11:50 p.m. on January 13.

Dillon Gray-Vail is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, four counts of failing to comply with probation, and failure to comply with a release order.

A warrant was also issued for Michael Vella-White, who was wanted for attempted murder. Police said the 22-year-old turned himself in to police on Monday.

“With charges now before the courts, we are hopeful this [brings] a small measure of comfort to the victim and his family. Despite the significant injuries, we recognize that it could have been even worse," said Police Chief Derek Davis. "Our community should be encouraged to know that the Sarnia Police Service takes these matters very seriously. Since the initial report, multiple teams of officers have worked tirelessly and cooperatively to bring this urgent matter [successfully] before the courts."

Police are also asking witnesses to contact SPS.

A Sarnia Transit bus unloaded passengers near the intersection of Westbury Court and Devine Street at the time of the stabbing.

Those who may have seen the incident are asked to call (519) 344-8861.
