Hard Oil Music Festival to include April Wine

Canadian rock band April Wine has been added to the list of performers at this summer's Petrolia Hard Oil Music Festival.

The multi-day event at Greenwood Park runs from Thursday, August 15 until Saturday, August 17.

April Wine will open the Friday night show.

The band was formed in 1969 in Halifax, Nova Scotia and has released 16 studio albums.

Some internationally-known hits from the 1970s and '80s include You Could Have Been a Lady, Tonite Is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love, and Sign of the Gypsy Queen.

Tom Cochrane was previously announced as the headliner of the Friday night show.

Award-winning alternative rock band Sam Roberts Band is set to headline the Saturday night show and country artist Josh Ross will headline the Thursday night show.

The music festival is being held in celebration of Petrolia's 150th anniversary.

Tickets were available to Petrolia residents first and the pre-sale will continue until June 10.

Sales for the general public opened on Friday, May 24 at 10 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online through ticketscene.
