Dancing event raises $7K for Ohana Landing

This year's Sarnia Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) gala raised $7,000 for Ohana Landing, a supportive transitional housing facility for youth.

A cheque was presented on Monday, June 3, shortly after the event was held on May 25 at the Four Points Sheraton/Sunbridge Hotel in Point Edward. Several local celebrities participated in the dancing fundraiser along with local instructors.

Event coordinator Eve Morgan-Langille previously said she was thrilled to bring the event back following a brief hiatus caused by the pandemic.

The Tax Force CEO Steve Levack was named the 2024 winner, along with first-time DWTS professional instructor Michelle Mitchell of Great Lakes Dance Studio. The pair danced a tango and an East Coast swing.

Other local participants included Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce CEO Carrie McEachran, musician Scott Manery, and Dr. Khalid Al-Saadon of the Sarnia Anti-Aging Clinic.

Their instructors included Nancy Michieli, Vasco Michieli, and Caroline Irwin.
