The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has received approval for an over $3 million renovation project for the future Sacred Heart Catholic School.
The school will be located at the former Gregory A. Hogan site, and is set to open its doors in the fall of 2025.
The $3,348,188 renovation will include demolishing the current gymnasium and constructing a new 3,634 square foot gym and stage area, as well as retrofitting nearly 5,000 square feet of existing interior space.
"We are thrilled to receive approval for this project from the Ministry of Education,” said Amy Janssens, Associate Director of Corporate Services. “The new facilities will greatly enhance the learning environment for our students and support the needs of the Sacred Heart Catholic School community. This investment underscores our commitment to providing quality education in modern, well-equipped spaces."
The project is supported by ministry funding, and the lowest tender for the project was by Wellington Builders, for a little less than $3 million.
