Man charged for operating watercraft near Lake Huron shoreline

A man who was operating a personal watercraft on the shores of Lake Huron has been charged with dangerous operation.

Lambton OPP and the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) responded to the area of East Parkway Drive in Lambton Shores at around 6:20 p.m. Saturday, August 31.

The OPP said they received calls from several concerned residents about a watercraft being too close to the shoreline.

A 48-year-old London man was arrested, and released from custody.

He has a court appearance scheduled for October 28 in Sarnia.

Lambton OPP are reminding all watercraft operators to adhere to water safety regulations and operate their vessels responsibly.

Police said unsafe practices on the water not only endangers the operator but also poses significant risks to swimmers and other individuals enjoying the water.

Police are thanking the individuals who contacted police and reported this incident.
