Sting acquire forward from Knights in rare trade

The Sarnia Sting and London Knights have made a rare trade ahead of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season, which gets underway this week.

The Sting have acquired 19-year-old forward Kaeden Johnston from the Knights for a 4th round pick in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection.

The Peterborough native scored six goals and added four assists in 40 games with the Knights this past season, his first full OHL campaign.

Sting General Manager Dylan Seca is looking forward to having Johnston in the lineup.

"Kaeden is a player who’s been a part of the talented London Knights where his opportunity was limited," said Seca. "However, he’s someone we’ve been tracking for a couple years and believe his speed, size and skill is valuable. Further more we believe his experience of being an OHL champion will help our group as we continue our push back into contention in the Western Conference."

The Sting's regular season gets underway Friday, September 27 against the Windsor Spitfires at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

You can hear every game on 103.9 FM/1070 AM CHOK.
