Approximately 400 to 500 people are expected to attend Lambton College's Fall Open House this weekend.
Associate Director of Marketing and Recruitment Rhian Reilly said the autumn event is usually very popular because of when it is held during the school year.
The open house will be held on Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Reilly said it's a great opportunity for people to tour the school's state-of-the-art facilities and meet with students and faculty.
Shuttles will also be available from the London Road facility to take guests to and from the Lambton College Fire School on Lasalle Line.
"We also have a number of things happening throughout the day, including two information sessions," Reilly said. "One is on funding your future which is a great opportunity to learn all about financing your education from scholarships and bursaries to on-campus employment and [the Ontario Student Assistance Program]. Then we have a co-op information session as well, this is the session that will provide valuable insights on co-op opportunities and how to connect with industry partners."
Reilly said they encourage students in Grades 10 and 11 to attend the open house.
"If you are in Grade 12 and looking to actually apply to [Lambton College], we will cover the cost of your application as well on the day," she said.
A free pizza lunch will be provided. Guests will also have the opportunity to win some prizes and participate in batting practice with Lambton Lions athletes.
"Between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 p.m., you'll have the opportunity to come and do some batting practice with our varsity women's softball team; and then between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., you get the opportunity to do some batting practice with our varsity men's baseball team," she said. "The men's baseball team is actually the 2024 OCAA silver medalists so we hope people will come down and learn more about our varsity athletes."
Guests are asked to pre-register online. Parking will be free.
