The Sarnia Police Service's Canine Unit and members of the Emergency Response Team helped Strathroy-Caradoc police in a drug investigation that turned up approximately $15,000 worth of cocaine.
Strathroy-Caradoc police said officers from both services searched a residence in the north end of Strathroy on November 21.
Police seized over 150 grams of cocaine.
"Also seized during the execution of this warrant was $4,500 in Canadian currency, a replica firearm and other proceeds of crime totaling over $50,000," read a post on Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service's Facebook page.
A 29-year-old Strathroy woman was charged with drug, property, and weapons offences. Exact charges and a court date were not specified.
Deputy Chief Michael Van Sickle said this was the first time the SPS Canine Unit was used to help another service.
Sarnia's new police dog, Vader, was sworn in in August after he and his handler, Cst. Shawn Urban, completed a training program.
Police Chief Derek Davis previously said agencies typically support each other and before the SPS had Vader, they received canine support from neighbouring police forces, subject to availability.
