Sarnia fire crews extinguish basement fire

A basement fire on Emma Street was quickly extinguished by Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services crews Friday morning.

Firefighters responded to a fire at a home before 10 a.m.

While en route, they were told a person may still be inside.

When they arrived, firefighters located the person quickly, and got them safety outside.

They were transported by Lambton EMS to Bluewater Health as a precaution.

Firefighters said the fire did not extend to the rest of the dwelling and the scene was cleared before noon.
