Man arrested following assault at Exmouth Street business

A 29-year-old man is facing charges following an assault at a business on Indian Road and Exmouth Street Friday.

Police said they were originally called to the area just before 10:40 p.m. for reports of several people yelling and screaming.

A second call then came in from the business that a man had allegedly assaulted the manager of the store when she was taking out the garbage.

Police said she was loading cardboard boxes into a vehicle when the suspect allegedly walked by and slammed her car door shut.

Officers allege a verbal altercation took place and the man allegedly struck her in the arm.

She was not injured.

The suspect and three other males who were with him but not directly involved, ran down Exmouth Street.

Police located the suspect running through a parking lot where he was arrested,

He has been charged with assault and breach of probation. He was held for bail.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
