NOVA prepared for tariff impacts

NOVA said it has taken proactive steps in an effort to manage potential disruptions from the recently imposed U.S. tariffs.

In an email to Sarnia News Today, NOVA said while these tariffs are likely to create challenges within the broader industry, their customers remain a top priority and NOVA will continue business as usual per customer agreements.

"Although many details are still unclear and may continue to evolve, we have proactively taken steps to manage any potential disruptions and ensure continued, reliable service," said the email.

The company said it will continue to advocate for a trade environment that supports growth and stability of the plastics industry and works to ensure long-term economic security for North America.

It was recently announced NOVA has been purchased by the Borouge Group International for $13.4 billion including debt.

As the largest private employer in the Sarnia-Lambton region, NOVA employs more than 1,000 workers.

NOVA also has facilities in Joffre, Alberta, as well as in Texas and Louisiana.
