OPP lay charge in fiery 402 crash

A 26-year-old from Brampton has been charged in a fiery crash between two transports on Highway 402 Wednesday morning.

Shortly after 3 a.m., Lambton OPP, Lambton EMS and Sarnia Fire Rescue Services responded to the westbound lanes between Indian Road and Christina Street.

That section of highway was closed for nearly 30 hours to allow for investigation and clean up. It reopened at around 8 a.m. Thursday.

Police said the driver and passenger of one of the tractor trailers were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The accused faces a charge of careless driving causing bodily harm and is scheduled to appear before in court on June 5.

Lambton OPP are thanking the public for their patience and cooperation during the extended closures.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the collision is asked to contact Lambton OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
