The clock is ticking to get your tickets for the Alzheimer Society's latest fundraiser.
The draw for the 'It's Five O'clock Somewhere' raffle is on Friday, September 5.
Fund Development and Communications Manager Marie Marcy-Smids said the value of the total prize board is $20,000.
"Up for grabs, first prize is a Sea-Doo Spark, donated by Bayview Chrysler Dodge, second prize is a Aruba Stand Up paddleboard and the third prize is a Yeti cooler filled with adult beverages," she said.
Money raised will go towards client services, including day programs and respite care for the over 3,500 local residents battling Alzheimer's and dementia.
"So, for every one person that is diagnosed, there are two care partners that the disease affects," said Marcy-Smids. "That brings us to 9,500 people that are dealing with the fallout of Alzheimer's or other dementias."
Marcy-Smids said the need for services in the community is increasing.
"And the landmark study that Alzheimer Canada did demonstrates that Ontario, even the country, is not prepared for the number of people that are going to be requiring services," she said. "So, we need to start preparing. Our role right now is to try to keep people in their homes as long as possible, therefore taking a strain off of the health care system."
Tickets for 'It's Five O'clock Somewhere' raffle are $20 each or six for $100 and available online through the Alzheimer society's website and social media pages.
The draw will be held at 9 p.m. Friday at Bad Dog in downtown Sarnia.
