Lambton County OPP took five impaired drivers off the roads over the Labour Day long weekend.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on August 29 police were called to the Blue Water Bridge by the Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) about a possible impaired driver.
A 39-year-old man from Michigan was arrested and charged. He's scheduled to return to Sarnia to appear before the Ontario Court Justice later this month.
Shortly before midnight on August 29, police arrested a 23-year-old from Warwick for driving under the influence during a traffic stop on London Road near Lambton Mall Road.
She's charged with impaired driving.
On August 30 just before 5:30 p.m., OPP responded to a traffic complaint in Petrolia. A 54-year-old Petrolia man was arrested and charged during a traffic stop on Petrolia Line near Oozloffsky Street.
The fourth incident happened less than five hours later in Grand Bend.
A traffic stop was conducted on Ontario Street. When police noticed signs of impairment a 45-year-old Brampton man was arrested.
The last incident over the long weekend happened on August 31.
At approximately 6:45 p.m. OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver on Chiefs Road South on Walpole Island First Nation.
A 36-year-old man is charged with impaired driving, operating a vehicle without insurance and using a plat not authorized for vehicle.
Each of the drivers received a 90 day licence suspension and a seven day vehicle impoundment.
