Amusement rides, kids' activities, a petting zoo, and traditional fair foods will be set up at the Wyoming Fairgrounds over the next three days.
Dubbed as Lambton County's oldest fall fair, gates to the Plympton-Wyoming Fall Fair will open at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 12.
Plympton-Wyoming Agricultural Society President Lauren Armstrong said the weekend event will be "jam-packed" and is expected to attract approximately 1,000 attendees, depending on the weather.
"Friday night, we start with our opening ceremonies. We're doing a live pie auction, the proceeds will go toward our local hospital in Petrolia," she said. "We have a barn dance, featuring Colt McLauchlin."
Saturday's festivities will begin at 10 a.m. ahead of the parade, which begins at 11:45 p.m. Local groups and individuals can register to participate in the parade between 10 a.m. and 10:55 a.m.
"A lot of community members come out," said Armstrong. "Our theme this year is 'finding fun in fall,' so that's what we ask if you enter the parade."
Sunday will feature various displays, including a heavy horse and sheep show, an antique tractor pull, and the popular championship wrestling show at 2 p.m.
Armstrong said this year, they're introducing a kids pedal tractor pull on Saturday and Sunday and an extreme dog show on Sunday at 11 a.m.
"We're really focusing on agricultural education as well throughout the weekend," said Armstrong as she highlighted some of the kids' activities and shows.
The entrance fee is $10 for adults and elementary school children are free.
"We're a family-friendly fair. We've always geared toward the little kids so we like to keep it at a fair price so everyone can come and enjoy and have a great weekend."
Armstrong thanked their sponsors and volunteers for their help in planning and executing the popular community event.
The fairgrounds are located at 595 Main St. in Wyoming.
