Lambton Heritage Museum PA Day features farming fun

Families are invited to explore the Lambton Heritage Museum's new Agricultural Hall.

The museum will be hosting its first PA day event of the school year, Farmyard Frolics, on Friday, September 19.

Educational Program Coordinator Colleen Inglis said the Agricultural Hall underwent renovations over the last year.

"This will kind of be a first chance to get a look at the new exhibits in there that we're having a series of farm themed activities to celebrate the PA day," she said.

There will be a farm-themed I Spy scavenger hunt, broom making demonstrations, and guided tours.

The exhibit will highlight clearing the land, raising livestock, plowing, planting, harvesting, and processing crops.

Inglis said it's important to have these type of events because of Lambton County's agricultural roots.

"This is kind of a nice opportunity for people to come out and learn about agriculture, see some of these older historical items because farming plays a big role in our lives today," she said.

Inglis said the event is a great opportunity to head to the museum.

"[They] can check out our new Agricultural Hall, do some family-friendly activities and learn about the role of agriculture in our community," she said.

The museum will be open from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday and registration is not required.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students, $3 for children four and up and children three and under get in free.
