A 27-year-old Corunna man faces charges in connection with a disturbance at Lambton College.
On Thursday, September 18 at approximately 1 p.m., police responded to the Wellington Street entrance of the college and found a man yelling at security officers who had refused him entry.
According to police, the man had previously been banned from the property after allegedly threatening and harassing staff members.
"Officers reviewed multiple emails, voice messages all containing vile language and multiple threats to damage property and commit violent acts against specific people," police said in a news release issued Friday. " These threats were detailed and specifically directed at named individuals, causing them to fear for their safety."
At the time, the suspect was bound by a probation order requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behavior with additional conditions.
At around 2:20 p.m. police arrested Daniel Wellington at an Errol Road East address.
Police allege he began yelling obscenities at officers while being secured in a cruiser.
While in custody at the detention facility, Wellington allegedly urinated and defecated on the cell floor and walls.
Police said this created a biohazard and required decontamination services at an estimated cost of $700 and prevented the cell from being used until sanitized.
He is charged with uttering threats to cause death, criminal harassment, failing to comply with probation, mischief, and breach probation.
Wellington was remanded into custody.
