A pair of Sarnia Sting forwards, eligible to be taken in the 2026 NHL draft, will be suiting up in the Connor McDavid OHL Top Prospects Game.
Alessandro Di Iorio and Beckham Edwards will be among the 40 players taking part, representing the Western Conference.
Di Iorio is an "A" rated prospect, according to NHL Central Scouting, which means he's a candidate to be taken in the first round. Edwards received a "B" rating as a second or third round candidate.
So far this season, Di Iorio has six points in 11 games after missing the first part of the year due to injury. Edwards leads the Sting with 11 goals and 23 points across 28 games played.
Both players are no strangers to the International stage. They each played for Canada at the 2025 IIHF U18 Men’s World Championship and Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Most recently, the pair represented the Canadian Hockey League at the CHL USA Prospects Challenge in November.
The rosters were selected by a committee that included representatives from NHL Central Scouting with input from NHL General Managers along with OHL Vice President of Hockey Operations James Boyd.
The game is being held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, beginning at 7 p.m.
