Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southwestern and midwestern Ontario with rain, wind, and rapidly falling temperatures in the forecast.
Rain is expected to continue Thursday night before changing to flurries throughout the day on Friday. About 10 to 20 mm of rain is expected.
Temperatures are expected to drop significantly on Friday, as a strong cold front passes through the area with wind gusts of 60 to 80 kilometres an hour. The falling temperatures could cause roadways and sidewalks to become very slippery.
Winds are expected to ease Friday evening.
Flurries and snow squalls off of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are also expected behind the front.
Environment Canada warns travel may become difficult at times and power outages are possible.
