Sarnia man facing several charges after allegedly fleeing RIDE stop

A 31-year-old man is facing several charges after allegedly speeding away from police.

Sarnia police say that around 9 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, officers were conducting mobile RIDE initiatives along Exmouth Street when they saw a vehicle leave a nearby restaurant.

Police say they followed the vehicle onto Quinn Drive and initiated a traffic stop. According to police, the driver allegedly made a U-turn and sped away heading west, running a red light heading south on Barclay Drive, and then another red light at Exmouth Street.

Due to safety risks, police terminated their pursuit but do allege that the driver continued to flee at high speeds with no regard for the safety of the other vehicles.

Officers were able to get the license plate, and an investigation led to the arrest of Sarnia resident Caleb Moore.

Moore is facing several charges, including failure to comply with a release order.
