The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) has announced the launch of six new student-led businesses as part of the 2026 Summer Company Program.
The program supports entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 29 by turning their business ideas into a reality.
"Each year, Summer Company introduces new ideas, new services, and new energy into Sarnia-Lambton's business community," said CEO of Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership Matthew Slotwinski in a news release. "We are pleased to support these young entrepreneurs as they put their ideas into action and build connections with customers across the region. More significantly, we are excited to see the outcomes of their entrepreneurial journey, and hope that these students are the future of small business in Sarnia-Lambton"
This year's entrepreneurs have created a diverse range of businesses including a line of all-natural body care products, small business support, sport coaching, lawn and yard care, 3D printing, and handmade art products.
Funded by the Ontario government, the Summer Company Program supports the entrepreneurs through a combination of startup funding, mentorship, and business training. Each successful applicant received up to $3,000 in funding, along with ongoing guidance throughout the summer.
