Sting athletic therapist headed to top prospects game

The athletic therapist for the Sarnia Sting is heading to the CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game next month in Hamilton.

Amy Mausser, one of just two women behind the bench in the Ontario Hockey League, was named to the Team White support staff Thursday.

The Kitchener-native, who's been with the Sting since August 2017, was previously the athletic therapist and head trainer with the Kingston Frontenacs.

Mausser's list of academic accolades include a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences from Sheridan College in Athletic Therapy, a Massage Therapy Certificate from the College of Health and Technology and a Masters of Exercise Science at the University of Connecticut.

Sarnia Sting forward Jacob Perreault is among the 40 players taking part in the game, and former Sarnia coach and Sting star Trevor Letowski, the current head coach of the Windsor Spitfires, will be an associate coach with Team White.

The 25th annual showcase of 40 of the CHL’s top prospects eligible for the NHL Draft will be played January 16 in Hamilton.
