The Sarnia Sting's newest first round draft pick scored the shootout winner in the 16th annual Black & White Game.
Porter Martone scored the first and only goal of the shootout to give Team White a 5-4 win Friday night. Martone, a 15-year-old winger from Peterborough, was selected fifth overall in the 2022 OHL Draft.
Tyson Doucette scored two goals for Team Black. The 18-year-old spent last season with the Soo Thunderbirds of the NOJHL and the Aurora Tigers of the OJHL.
Second-year Sting Marko Sikic scored a pair of goals for Team White. Sikic, 19, was appearing in his first Black & White Game after being acquired from the Guelph Storm in January.
This year's game, which capped of the Sting's training camp, raised over $3,000 for United Way of Sarnia-Lambton.
The Sting's preseason begins September 9 in London and the hockey club's regular season gets going September 30 in Kitchener.
