More Prison Time For St. Martin

Sonny St. Martin will be in jail for another year after trying to run down his common-law wife with her pick-up truck back in 2013.

His sentence came down in Superior Court this afternoon, in Windsor, which also includes three years of probation in which he can't drive or talk to the victim.

Defence Lawyer Ken Marley says his client is disappointed with the probation stipulations, but St. Martin may still be able to change the visitation ruling. "Once he's on probation, if either as a result of the counselling he receives in custody or as a result of other counselling he receives after, if his probation officer is persuaded that there has been a change, the probation officer may be the one to recommend a change (to the original ruling)."

St. Martin has already served the majority of his full 46-and-a-half month prison sentence.

He was up against assault with weapon charges, but also assault causing bodily harm after an incident in jail back in the fall of 2013.
