UPDATE: Charges In EC Row Crash

A motorcycle rider has been charged with drunk driving after a crash that shut down EC Row Tuesday for several hours.

It happened at around 6pm in the westbound lanes of EC Row at Howard Ave. The area didn't reopen until about 5:40am Wednesday.

Witnesses told police they saw the biker driving erratically while passing others before slamming into the back of a vehicle.

The 41-year-old motorcycle driver was rushed to hospital and police say he was conscious at the time. Police say he's currently in hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Officers learned late Tuesday that the driver's injuries appear to be more serious than originally thought and had to conduct accident reconstruction, which closed the road for several hours.
