Taking The Fight Against Prostate Cancer To The Streets

You might notice a lot of motorcycles on Windsor streets today.

The TELUS Motorcycle Ride For Dad kicks off at 10am at Windsor's Riverfront Festival Plaza on Riverside Dr. The route takes riders in a full circle around Essex County.

It's Canada's largest annual power-sports event dedicated to fighting prostate cancer through research and public awareness. The event has grown to 40 cities in every province and involves more than 250,000 participants. It's raised more than $15-million since it's beginnings in

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men. One in seven Canadian men are diagnosed with it during their lives, and successful treatment depends on early detection.

Even those who don't ride can contribute to the cause by making a donation, raising their own pledges or cheering on the riders.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
