The Conference Board of Canada says the City of Windsor can expect solid economic growth for the rest of 2017.
A summary of a report expected to be released later this month says manufacturing will grow a more moderate 3.7% in the second half of the year, following years of strong gains. Between 2014 and 2016, manufacturing in Windsor has expanded by an average of 6.8%.
By comparison, the manufacturing sector in London will grow 2.6% this year, and 2.4% in 2018. The same sector in Oshawa is expected to post a 1.1% increase.
Gains made in manufacturing have positively affected other areas of the economy as well, including the auto industry, transportation, and warehousing sectors.
Windsor's gross domestic product is expected to remain strong, coming in at 2.5%.
